EMU calls on the European media to recognize the positive role of Muslims in Europe and not indirectly contribute to the strengthening of the right-wing populist movements by tendentious reporting
It is with great concern that the Board of EMU is following the demonstrations of the so-called “PEGIDA” in Dresden. The motto of the gathering of self-proclaimed “patriots” is in the view of our organisation clearly directed against Islam in Europe and deliberately ignores the history and traditions of European Muslims. PEGIDA certainly does not represent the spirit of Goethe or Frederick the Great
