The aims of the forum, which brought together representatives of around 160 international or national NGOs, were:
· give a civil society dimension to work being carried out on the White Paper on Intercultural Dialogue adopted by the Committee of Ministers in May 2008;
· contribute to the work of the pan-European project “Living together in 21st century Europe”;
· identify best practice as the basis for an intercultural dialogue “toolkit” that addresses the new challenges.
